Why is Barre so good POST natal?

Careful reactivation 🤍  Your core and pelvic floor have been through it recently!  Steady and controlled reactivation of these muscles is the only way to go.  We closely supervise you while you flatten and start to knit these muscles back together. 

 

Full body stretch and release 🤍 funnily enough, it's not just all about abs.  Hip flexors can get over tight (from change of posture both standing and sitting), your lower back can be stiff, shoulders holding more tension from long sleepless nights or falling asleep sat up (🫶 it happens) and thats just for starters.  Barre will help you lengthen and regain muscle balance ready for when your bundle of joy is a running, jumping bundle of fast moving energy 😍

 

Steady strengthening 🤍 You need to strengthen your body and muscles. You're likely to feel weaker and more fatigued than ever before.  Weight bearing exercises that are no impact is the safest and most functional way to do this while your body is still raging full of hormones that can affect joint stability. 

 

Time for you, with your baby close by 🤍 We get it, Mum guilt is huge! We want you to feel empowered and truly believe that the healthier (in your head and your body!) and stronger you are the better this is for your new baba, and let's be honest, everyone around you too 😄. Need to feed, no worries, baby crying, it's ok, we've got this! 

 

Take your time! 🤍 Culturally we are under pressure to return to fitness, or to fit into our previous clothes etc etc 🤯

We want you to think more about your health and fitness in a long term, functional manor.  YOUR BODY IS AMAZING and it's likely to feel super differently to what it did previously.  We're here to help you, whatever your goals are to stay in love with your new bod and make it awesome for the years ahead
